American Founders University™ is a collegiate University comprised of self-governing colleges and institutes. These colleges and institutes offer courses in four key areas of study:
- Individual Studies
- Family Studies
- American Studies and
- Global Studies
Individual courses have a supplemental distance learning component, offered over the Internet. Each course may include, but is not limited to, video instruction from Rick Koerber and other successful mentors, written assignments, tests, live classroom labs on the Internet, and supplemental materials available for download. Some courses may also include 1-Day Intensives, where students will attend live, in-person workshops on the AFU campus in Provo, Utah. All courses are supported by the caring and professional staff of AFU, comprised of Student Advisors and experienced Instructors.
In some cases, courses are combined to form Programs, which are more all-encompassing studies of a particular subject.
